Dr. Bert G. Drake, Senior Research Plant Physiologist for the Smithsonian Institute explores approaches to energy conservation and alternative fuel use.
Al Gore's recent movie, "An Inconvenient Truth", clearly shows that the profligate use of fossil fuel is having a devastating effect on our climate system. Dr. Drake's talk will summarize the approaches to energy conservation and possible alternatives to fossil fuels. Can we reverse the trend of increasing atmospheric CO2 and avert climate catastrophe?
